What are Idahound’s requirements for shipping?

While we don’t place any minimums on dried shipments, all orders containing frozen products must include a minimum of 15 ITEMS.

Frozen shipments are packaged in either a medium box (25 lb. maximum) or a large box (40 lb. maximum).

The heavier the box, the greater the Fedex discount. If ordering over 50 lbs, consider increments of that amount.

When will my order be shipped?

Due to our production schedule and company size, we are limited to shipping Mondays and Wednesdays, depending on travel time.

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an email with an order number.

If all of the products in your order are available that order will ship on the nearest Monday or Wednesday. If you order over the weekend, for example, you can expect that purchase to ship on Monday.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a second email with a tracking number.

If you have any questions about your order, email us at idahound@gmail.com and include your order number in the subject line.

Frozen Food Minimum

If you’re buying our frozen foods, you’re please be aware of the 15 POUND MINIMUM. Although we apologize for the inconvenience, this rule exists for a couple of reasons:

  1. Shipping creates a bit of waste. The less cardboard and foam per pound of food shipped, the better. On that note, if you’re interested in purchasing a cooler that Idahound ships to and from your location (like pen pals, but with a cooler!), click here. It’s an amazing option that requires no dry ice, no foam, and no cardboard. We’ll even discount every order 5%.
  2. One and two pounds of frozen food will thaw much more rapidly than 15 or more lbs. We want your dog’s Idahound to arrive fresh!
  3. Idahound is tiny operation. We don’t have enough employees to fill lots of tiny orders.

So jump in and get your dog on Idahound! We promise that you won’t be disappointed.
